Even up North, it’s not so honky dory:
Another one just kick the bucket.
What was the phrase we red lately ‘’ in the meantime, we will be at dirt…’'Soooo true…

Jim, It WAS a high banked 1/3 mile. VERY fast. Ran there a few times. Great fan friendley track, good view, great seating. The Wall 300 Turkey Derby was a premire modifed event.
You Can ADD I20 in S.C. in the VERY near future.
There are a BUNCH of states that want racing GONE beacuse it wastes GAS.
Unfortunately, a co-worker of mine moved to charlotte 2 yrs ago from NJ. He knew the track well and said over the last few years the property has been almost completely surrounded by new developement. The racetrack turned into prime developement property. It’ll be plowed under and developed most likely within 12 months.
I’m sure the partners all got FAT checks for the property.
Nothing against them, it was an investment. but thats what happens when the city grows around the track that was built (out of town) years ago. Metrolina speedway is still up here almost untouched with room for parking, but will likely never be used again.
How appropriate, the closing of another storied short track, on NASCAR letterhead.
