Man what a night of racing at CCMP. I kept looking for a full moon but never did find it. The 100 lap late model race was awsome, Scotty Walters led from flag to flag. At one time he had a 1/2 track lead and the caution flew. Jason said, he didn’t want to see that caution, but not to worry, the green came out and the #55 of waltera had no problem pulling away. No body had anything for Scott. The figure eight demo was a scene of the future I hope. Some of the drivers got together and wanted to race a run what you brung Figure eight class. They put on a good show. We haven’t had a bonified figure eight class in this part of the state for a while. The pro figure eight classes of the past have a fond spot in my memory. Just maby! The weather wa beautiful in contrast with last week. I worked Hendry County last week and wore 2 jackets and still froze. CCMP had a good crowd last night, I don’t have an Idea how many but the stands and the parking lots seemed pretty full. The tribute to life long racer Dan Benoit, who lost his battle to cancer, was touching. His sons Cody and Billy are carrying on the tradition. Cody drove the #20 ledgends car and billy drove his #20 Fab 4. Dans car was paraded aroun the track and was parked in the infield all night to remind every one. The road warrior class had a mising man formation before their race. Dan was a well liked driver of th #20 Road Warrior, of which class Dan won the 2007 Championship. If you like asphalt racing and you live in sw florida, CCMP is the place to be on Sat night. Thanks Bob…
