Who is in charge of Fascar?

I just realized that I don’t know who actually “runs” Fascar. This much I believe to be true:

Robert Hart owns both OSW and NSS (did also own Columbia, but sold it to Don Nerone)
Rusty Marcus is Chief Cook and Bottle Washer at OSW.
Terry Roberts is in a similar capacity at New Smyrna.
Don Nerone, with (assistance from Tim Lake at CMP) as well as the Fascar Tours.

But who is actually in charge of the Fascar sanctioning body? Hart owns the Fascar name, but he’s just the figurehead of the organization.

I am. Watch your step or there will be no more “free passes” for you.

I can’t comment. Dammit! :anim_buttkick:

Who Bee In Charge ?

The word is (and has been) Ms. OZ is a “Silent” partner for ALL racing in Florida. The likes of Hart, The Don and many others report to her.
Without her leadership skills, we would be at a loss for good racing.

I know all (cause I bee from Boston and one of the chosen few). HA HA HA

OSF :ernaehrung004::ernaehrung004::ernaehrung004:

P. S. Jerry, did you get my message about a week ago?

This Just In!!! FASCAR has been bought by Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban…
Former Pro Wrestler Jesse “The Body” Ventura is the new OSW GM…
The new NSS GM is Howie Mandell…
Concessions now operated at both tracks by Bubbalu’s Bodacious BBQ (I like that)
Tech Inspectors - ZZ Top
Pit Offices will still be run by Jane and Kim, but they have to wear bikinis…
Flagperson - Paris Hilton (bet you"ll pay attention to any flag she throws at you… She also is good at “smoothing over” those bad calls)
Announcer - Bobcat Goldthwaite (Oh wow man, that was like a beeeg crash!!)
Race Director - Stevie Wonder (Did anybody see that??)
Rusty Marcus is still employed but now as “Director of Anything That Could Go Wrong and Probably Will.”

Just havin’ fun… FASCAR has very good people who are trying hard to keep things going during tough times…

my opinion about that!!!

just be glad i dont have to work in the pit offices… im from boston and we are taught to be “proper”…(dont know what the hell happened to OSF!)
i wouldnt own a race track if it was free! too much back stabbing and fighting against each other. id rather work at a chicken farm. its easier to work with a bunch of peckers… oh hahahaha
the “proper bostonian”…
OZZIE :teufel021:

But who is actually in charge of the Fascar sanctioning body?

in fact, there are too many chiefs. when i pitched holy hell about the way Ron was getting jerked around last year Butch Pierce told me to my face that it was his decision not to let Ron run.

two problems:

  1. Butch has no title within FASCAR that would grant him any authority at all over a weekly class at the local tracks. he is a Truck tour official.

  2. I was standing next to Ron at the NSS pit gate when Sandy Nerone keyed up the Nextel and told Liz Roberts that Ron was barred. this was just after Liz had gotten done verifying with OSW Promoter Rusty Marcus and the FASCAR Competition Director Donnie Lewis that as far as they were concerned Ron was good to go.

i didn’t push the issue any further because i had discovered the information i was looking for;
whether or not anybody was going to try and cover for the Nerones.
whether or not they were going to continue to blatantly violate their own rule book and procedures ( we have not to this day received a suspension notice ).

if the announcement hadn’t been made that “the Nerones will not have anything to do with OSW or NSS in 2008” we would not have come back. of course, the Nerones are still all wrapped up in the weekly shows at both these tracks but at least now it appears that they have no influence over what happens on the track … unless a FASCAR Tour is out there.

but, long story short, there’s too many people who put their fingers in every pie. and your FASCAR title doesn’t really have anything to do with your area of authority.

the final authority in any matter is Robert Hart. the question is what he’s going to allow an underling to decide today. you never know.

I agree with Mr. McCreary…Robert Hart is FASCAR, owner of the sanctioning body, person to make the decisions and his answer should be final.

So, Robert can explain why Jessica Murphy’s suspension was lifted? Or did he not make that decision?

Darn Tim I can’t comment either…:aetsch013::anim_pound::anim_buttkick::

One thing is obvious, it’s not Don anymore. :waffen093:>>at someone else!

it’s not Don anymore.

really?

so when the Southern Sportman Series was at OSW last month and there was a complete exhaust from the collectors to the exhaust tips ( some 8’ of pipe off of both banks ) laying 10’ off of the racing groove in turn 3 and neither Rusty Marcus nor Donnie Lewis ( and they both tried. isn’t that sad? you’re the promoter/competition director and you can’t get a caution for debris that can be seen from space while NASCAR stops races at the drop of a hat for “Jacques Debris” ) could get a yellow thrown for over 20 laps, that was Robert’s call?

somehow i don’t think that’s true. i would think Mr. Hart would be a bit more concerned about safety issues after the shenanigans that NSS went through last year than to let that go. he has certainly made some strong statements to that effect.

i could be wrong though. it’s happened before.

his answer should be final.

i’m not sure how often ‘the question’ actually gets brought too him.

My guess is that “Fascar” whoever that may be, just turned their head to the whole Murphy thing. Dont want to disrupt deep pockets. OR somebody just plain messed up.

some kind of response would be nice though.

I see where Sandy didn’t address the question in her post about why she was allowed to race. Looks like Fascars comment on the subject is (NO COMMENT).Just another reason why the Mini series only have 9 cars at the most racing now. And Auburndale had more Sportsmen the same night the SSS raced at NSS 2 weeks ago.:sprachlos020: 16 vs 14.

Correct me if I am wrong but 16 sportsmen at one track and 14 at another, isnt that just another case of tracks NOT working together. I can see how that is hurting short tracks around the country.

Edm,

you are exactly correct, that is the problem with short track racing.

But I think all Rick meant was that on a normal night his local track pulled more than a “series” race which is supposed to hold more prestige.

So this is what I dont get - just to throw fuel on the fire (not that it will actually do anything) - judging by what I’ve seen, track owners and promoters read this board, but there is never any responce to any issues that are brought forth (sometimes even at THEIR request)???

isnt that just another case of tracks NOT working together.

regular Sportsmen cars are a weekly show at Auburndale just as they are at OSW, NSS and Columbia.

given that there are 11 dates on the SSS schedule and only 41 weekends that Auburndale ( quite a lot, actually ) is even running i’m not sure why Auburndale is expected to shut the weekly racers that support them down for +25% of their season when the SSS don’t run there. it’s even harder to expect it when Sportsman and Mods are their top tier classes.

whether Auburndale isn’t interested in the tours or FASCAR didn’t want to run there i have no idea but it doesn’t appear that there’s any FASCAR stuff on the schedule at all.

i think there was a Crash-a-Rama there earlier this year though.

Does Auburndale still have the rumble strips in the middle of the groove?

Sorry to miss lead you. The Sportsmen race EVERYOTHER weekend (OWM’s race the weekends the Sportmens are not racing)at Auburndale. It wasn’t a one time race that could have the date changed. In fact a few year ago when a fair number of Auburndale’s sportsmen drivers WERE in the Sportsmen Series. Auburndale DIDN’T race the Sportmens class the night the Series was racing. And the reason the Series doesn’t race there is the money that the Series charges the trackowner to put on their show. Why pay someone $6000.00 or so. When the track can draw more cars then the Series? At no added cost to the track.

Rick, I did not quote on the subject because I had nothing to do with it. I was not there and knew nothing about it until I read it on this board and was told that the powers to be at NSS suspended her from the truck races at NSS. So NO I don’t have a comment and won’t make one since I was not there and don’t make decisions for NSS.
