She went back to running Sprint Cars and has actually been doing pretty good… Last night at Southern Iowa Speedway she qualified second out of 40 cars for an All Star race… Had problems in her heat race and was done for the night though… Sammy Swindell won the feature for us old guys… Wonder if Erin will show up at Knoxville for the Nationals?
Last I heard they were going to try and run the Knoxville Nationals. From all accounts, she’s still a little rusty by her own admission, but the speed is there in the car. Hopefully she’ll stick it out in sprint cars, because she’s one of the best female sprint car drivers I’ve seen, next to Mares Stellfox.

Do not forget Mademoiselle Jessica Zimken. Very very talented. Seen her here at Autodrome Drummond & Granby couple of time, always up there with top runners.
If you like female sprint car drivers on pavement, Cordele, GA is the place to be this weekend for the USCS Asphalt Thunder Series race. You’ve got Wendy Mathis (John Tenney’s new favorite driver), teenage sensation Amanda Ferguson in a Butler car, and Traci DeCaire making her USCS debut.
Tripper…are you and/or and Haudfan going to Cordele? Never been there myself. What kind of field you think they’ll get? With the 3 you mentioned, none of which is a USCS regular, it makes me think maybe a good handfull of TBARA guys might be going up there with the regular USCS runners.
Frass, here is an inside tip for you. The girl who checks passes at the back gate goes nuts for the smell of Old Spice. The sooner you figure that out, the better. Trust me.

Getting a read on USCS Asphalt Thunder pre-entries is always tough, good guy that Pete may be.
Including the three drivers mentioned above, you can count in Troy DeCaire and Blaze Martin. I know the Butlers aren’t going, but Amanda is running one of their cars. Dan Statter from Deltona should be there. I think Terry Gray is a given. I’m not sure about Ben Fritz but he ran Cordele last time. Maybe Gary Gimmler can pick up a ride like he did at 5 Flags - but that’s pure speculation on my part.
Haudfan will be there since we’re using his hauler to take our car up. I won’t be there since this race wasn’t originally on our schedule and I booked a family vacation starting on Saturday.
I think you can most likely expect somewhere anywhere from 12 - 20 cars for this show.
I’ll tell you who I would like to see run there would be Larry Brazil, Jr. Given the horsepower his car puts down, that track would suit him well. Most every driver I’ve talked to that has run there loves it because it’s very smooth and very fast.
In case you are wondering, Wendy and Josh (her promoter) are in talks with my company to do some work together, not only in racing but in the employer insurance business.
Let me introduce you to Erin Crocker Evernham. That’s right. The once-controversial first couple of NASCAR is married. Ray Evernham and Erin Crocker exchanged vows Wednesday night in a Las Vegas hotel in front of immediate family members and friends.(ESPN.com)(8-27-2009)
Everybody has to be like me now and get married at a Vegas hotel in front of friends and family? I bet they didn’t have an Elvis impersonator perform the ceremony like I did.
