I’m in!
I looked into this a few months ago and it looked like a BLAST! I would love to be one of the 4-6 drivers. 4 means more seat time!
Sounds like fun and I like how they write their rules.
Ok, here is my proposal. If you guys road race the Buick Electra, I’ll provide assistance with the entry fees and expense money.
I happen to think that the LeMons concept has rapidly outgrown the original $500 racecar idea, and it turning into a 24 hour version of the uptight SCCA. But regardless of that, they are racing nearby and I think it would be a riot to see you and your dad running the vintage Buick against all the modern little cars. It will be even funnier when they see how competitive the Electra is! My money is on the 4Q!
Hey Todd… I be a thinking that would be fun… Imagine the eyeballs on the LeMons Guys when the Circle Jerk Team gets there and kicks their ever livin lovin Arse… If you need help, give me a yell…

what’re you, trying to get McCreary in your Boneman? you smash things like that together, you know what you’re going to get?
Motto:
Bonerman would like to 4Q
Mascot:
Achmed “The Anatomically Correct” Terrorist

and, of course, because we don’t want to scandalize the women and chil’ren Achmed will need underwear. i suggest something like what you can see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a4gyJsY0mc
i’m sure the electronics for that will be right up your alley.
“Give all your virgins to Allah or I keel you”?
the Circle Jerk Team
nah, i looked at the rules and this stands out.
"2.4: Whiner Eligibility. Whiners are not eligible to compete. If you believe that you might be a whiner, please check with a domestic partner, guardian, or health-care professional before getting the rest of your team kicked the hell out of the race."
obviously, the 24 Hours of Le Mons needs a Whiners Grand Lodge racing team.

shouldn’t this be in the comedy section? Thats pretty damn funny. If its serious I will be happy to sponsor a team, if I can drive.
Gee whiz Todd, the whole electric underpants thing sounds like lots of fun, but just my luck I’d end up with a short circuit…so to speak.
Did you actually search Youtube for “electric underwear”?
the good news is, we can get Achmed:

the bad news is, i think there’s at least two different things in the rules that will cause serious problems for the Electra. i’m going to have to get ahold of PBI.

you aren’t supposed to put the underwear on yourself, Rex. so your incontinence issues shouldn’t be a problem. :engel016:
on second thought, that would be hilarious. the whole team wandering around the pits with those things on.
I just may do this…
I looked at the schedule and mistakenly thought it was 12/09 in Miami… It’s 12/10! But after further review, me and a friend are think’n Kershaw, SC race THIS Feb. Hell, it’s only like an hour or two further for us! I may have three guys interested now that would be good drivers(taking care of the equipment and not doing anything stupid on the track) and can afford to spend around $500 ea. Got an old motor home too! Now looking for a camaro, monte, firebird…something with a SBC 350 because we got alot of motor parts if something breaks. And none of us knows how to work on the smaller, import cars. Does anyone know of a car for sale that might work? There are one or two in the classifieds that may do. I got a motor but sure hate to risk it. Also need to find out if headlights are required. Anybody else interested in joining our team???
Also need to find out if headlights are required.
rules say this is on a track by track basis.
i’d say, if this is going to be a night race you probably ought to have them in. you probably ought to consider wipers and windshield washer as well.
Good luck finding one under 500$ that will run 24 hours and has a motor in it. ![]()

I agree with Rex, would love to see you and your dad do this. Let me know if you do and I will be the cheerleader for the McCreary team.
Love ya, miss ya
may need drivers
A couple of friends and myself are gonna try this race. Feb. in Kershaw, S.C. Unfortunately it looks like the camaro enduro car sitting in the pasture is gonna be the car we use. It’s free and Chevy’s are about the only engines I’ve ever worked on. Also, I’ve got lots of Camaro parts lying around! We’ll spend our $500 on front springs, shocks, and engine parts. One of my partners has an auto repair shop so we’re gonna have plenty of spare parts and only have to pay for what we use! Unused parts will be returned when we come back home! Also have an enclosed trailer and motor home to use.
If anyone out there is a good, CLEAN driver and is not an obnoxious ass(we have one already) that will be hard to “live” with for a few days, pm or email me and we’ll see if we have an opening. Let me know what you can bring to the table. Having six drivers will cut down costs alot so that’s what we’re shooting for.

Just a heads up, the judges look for how much the car is worth, not how much you payed for it (nothing in your case). In a circle track article, they used a honda accord they bought for like 400$ but when the judges saw the motor (which in it self was more than 500$) they docked them a huge penalty. Because it was worth more than they payed.
You ain’t seen this car!
The car is a piece of crap as it sits right now. Our biggest problem is coming up with a theme to GET INTO the race. You have to apply and unique cars have the upper hand. Mustangs, Camaros, Beemers, are a “dime a dozen” it sounds like and are among the hardest to get in. Since my team will be mostly from around Gainesville, I was thinking maybe Gainesville Green Racing and have the car completely(EVERYTHING) bright green…maybe even have the whole top, trunk and hood covered with clumps of weeds???Nah, too heavy! If anyone else has a funny idea, let me know.
How ‘bout sum o dem green ne-on lites in da cah fer nite racin’?:huepfen024:

talked to Chris Festa at PBIR today. he verifies that they intend to use the entire standard road course, including the 6/10 mi straight. i asked about chicanes on that, he said that they might but when they put chicanes in they usually wind up spending more time fixing the chicane than racing.
talked to Jay Lamm ( official title: Chief Perpetrator ) as well. he says he doesn’t have a problem with the Electra’s weight but he said “I don’t think you’ll have much fun, but that’s your problem”. how little does he know. :engel016:
we would need to note on the race application that he was spoken too and he gave a verbal waiver.
My offer is still good brother. What a blast it would be to see the Electra turning left and right…and do it very competitively!
