Hey,hey,hey…

Now that one I turned up…:huepfen024:

Been a long time since I heard it too.

about 25 or so years ago we were in the bar at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.
Chuck walked in to have a late night drink after a concert he had with Jerry Lee Lewis. Our whole table started singing that song real loud and he came over and joined us. Don’t remember much after that though…:sprachlos020:
Really nice guy and a lot of fun.

Here’s a band you’ve never heard of…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXGOr7ximuo

A Canadian band called ‘Removal’ - so named because they ‘remove all’ the bits you don’t need from songs, like singing, guitar solos, things like that. They don’t even have song names, just number their songs with the album number, a dot, and then its place on that album’s tracklisting, hence this song being called ‘4.03’

Enjoy!

O.K. lets slow things down a bit with a tune with lucid lyrics and an upbeat, cheerful message.

This tune sort of reflects the same disposition I begin every day with.

This should warm the cockles of your heart?..

Mr. Fenton

Thank you for that little tune ,I needed a good laugh this morning to lift my spirits!!

All kidding aside, my favorite genre is Blues hands-down, particularly anything featuring a Juice Harp.

Here are two out of my long list of favorites. Both these Bluesmen come from across our border to the North.

This first song had a two-fold attraction for me due to my love for the blues but also due to my fascination with history including gangsters (whereas I particularly agree with their expedience in meting out justice, but I digress).

As soon as I heard the first two rifts on the Coke Commercial, I absolutely had to have the entire song.

From the Coke Commercial ?Sip Stealing?:

I?m a Criminal ? Paul Reddick & the Sidemen

Performing his version of one of my all time favorite Buddy Holley songs is one of the best Juice Harp players I?ve heard. (Check out the Juice Harp tool belt!).

Natalie Imbruglia mimes (?!?) Torn:
Natalie Imbruglia mimes (?!?) Torn:
British 80s band All About Eve don’t even get to start miming until about 1/3rd of the way into the song. This went out live on the BBC (I was watching at the time) and is pretty much all this band is still known for back home:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1JIe8Zlvr4

that’s “lip-synching”, not “miming”.

Natalie was either doing both or miming + actual singing.

i was going to say that it looks kind of like AAE swiped the Cowboy Junkies style, but it looks like they got going about the same time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHRFZFmEq9o

Well, if we’re being super-pedantic the fact that she obviously couldn’t hear her playback until 1/3rd of the way into the song means that she could neither mime nor lip-synch before that point, at which time she chose to lip-synch rather than put on a full mime-performance in an attempt to salvage something from this disastrous television appearance. So, technically…

Edit - yes, they were kind of contemporaries of the Cowboy Junkies, and got lumped in with the mid-80s goth movement in the UK. That song was their big hit and something of a crossover for them, but their other early stuff was electric, full of chorus on the guitars, and more like early The Cult or The Cure songs. That television appearance made them a bit of a laughing stock, and their career never really recovered. I thought this was a decent song by them though:
