Dear Mr. South 59… NO OTHER SPORT DOES THIS? YOU ARE RIGHT!!!IN OTHER SPORTS THEY PAY THE PEOPLE PUTTING ON THE SHOW BIG BUCKS. THEY HAVE LOCKEROOMS, TOP NOTCH BATHROOMS. THEY AREN’T USED AND ABUSED LIKE THEY ARE AT LOCAL 1/4 TRACKS LIKE YOURS. $30.00 TO GET IN??? WHAT A JOKE. PART OF THE FAMILY ATOMSHERE IN THE PITS IS TO SIT DOWN TO A GEART MEAL COOKED ON THE GRILL. AND NO FLA. THIS DON’T SOUND FAIR!

Rick. Don’t try and put this on Mr South. I just posted what was writen no the other board. I don’t have anything to do with it. I never said “No other sport does this”. All’s I said is that I didn’t think it was to unreasonable. I never even stated my opinion on the subject. Just a lot of people are trying to twist around what was writen. Your post with all caps was uncalled for towards me.

For my opinion. The only thing I had a problem was the no bbqing rule. I bbq outside BEFORE EVERY FEATURE. I always have and always will. I will just have to do it differently on my George Foreman in my trailer. And instead of buying my chicken at KFC I will buy it at publix I guess. I can still bring all the food I want and all the drinks I want and all of the snacks I want. The only thing it changes is the bbqing. Not to unreasonable.

I will bet that if we all voice our opinion to the track about the bbqing that we could get that changed also.:ernaehrung004:

Rick. I owned Martin Co. Kartway. Not CCMP. It was close to a 1/4 mile but I never charged more that $10 to get in. You must be talking about Gary Laplant who wrote those rule changes for CCMP? Right?

There goes racing…

We always brought our own food into the pits. Drivers usually don’t eat before a race so when they are done racing, they eat! Your track will loose alot of racers if you go this direction. You can bring food into Citrus and Auburndale. I know we used to bring it into all tracks in Florida.
If this happens, there goes racing for the families that go for fun…:frowning:

i agree!!

Well said!!!

That’s what we are talking about here CCMP. I was just posting back to your post. If there was any miss understanding between us I’m sorry. But I still don’t like it nor think it’s fair to keep pulling more and more money out of the racers pocket. At some point they will start putting the cars on jacks and a cover over the cars. IF CCMP or anyother track keeps doing these kind of things to the driver.

All the same??

Jane, this is true, “It would be the fair thing to do” But we all know they wont say s— to the money teams!! At least at NSS they won’t treat the all the same!! (Watch me get banned from the place!)

True. Lets Think Of More Ways To Get Drivers Into The Pits. That Makes More Money In The Stands Due To The Crowds It Will Bring. It’s Bad Enough To Have To Pay Our Own Purse Not To Have To Fill Theirs. North Florida Dirt Track Is Still Good To Us. Bring In Your Coolers…even In The Grandstands…how About Them Apples. That Enables Me To Bring 3 More People To The Track… My Wife And 2 Kids. Thanks Phil. I Guess You Guys Who Think This Is A Reasonable Change Have Plenty Of Money To Throw Around. Ill Come See You For Some. I Could Use It. I Guess It Is Easy To Forget That Some Families Love Racing So Much That They Eat Bologna Sandwiches At Home Just To Be Able To Go!!!

New pit rules
For one year, we did rent our pit slabs at Orlando but it was a mess. We had Friday shows and Saturday shows and when the Saturday people would race on Friday nights and their slabs had the Friday night people on them, well, it was no fun. So after that year, we did not even try that again.

I totally agree with the beer part in the pits but it is a hard thing to stop. You can check all the coolers but if they want to bring beer in, somehow they will do it no matter what you do. But as long as there is no drinking during racing and they wait until everything is over, that is okay. There were alot of cups floating around though that you knew was not coffee but most of the time it was a non-racer with them.

As for no food in the pits of bbq, well, sometimes that is the only way people get to eat because they just don’t really have the money to buy track food. Back in the era when my family raced, we brought our grill alot and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs so the kids could eat. We could afford that and afford to get in the pits but just didn’t have alot of extra money for buying the track food. But I am not so sure that I agree with forcing people to buy the track food at all. Part of the fun in racing is those bbqs at the track with your friends.

A few years back, I had a friend who raced at Desoto and he was eating a piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken and he said it was taken out of his hand and thrown in the garbage and he was told that was not allowed. I don’t agree with that at all. You can’t nickel and dime the drivers too death or they will just plain stop coming and we have seen that. It makes more sense to let them bbq and bring their food and they may even bring more people in the pits for the bbq.

But we are not track owners therefore we have no say in what a track does or does not do. You can suck it up and go or get mad and not go. It is all up to each individual.
A-dale is same way back in 1995, no food and drink from outside of track, when I used to lived in NY. I don`t have that problem, here is different ball park, up in NY, they never checked our cooler and but there beer in the cooler for after the races is over. We eat out after we left the track.

Few years back, I was at NSS and I got bite of chicken from the hauler next to me from his bbg after the races , it was cooking during before the end of the races. When USA Speedway first open in 1995, I was ex-crew of OWM when David Reuitimann was racing than, We brought everything skillet, cooler, foods, drinks,. We had alot fun, we dont go any track that not honor any food or drink to bring with us. That why no-one come to races anymore, cause of that. I understand that some tracks are money hungry, I guess,They want to get races fans, pits crews and drivers to return, I see you guys brought foods and realized they say ah-oh, you see the garage can. guess where your foods going before you enter the gates. This why I didnt go to the races this year, I only went 1 times, Its in CCS.
