My son Josh is in the hospital with cellulitis and two blood clots - one in the leg and one in the groin. There are no rooms at the hospital so they still have him in the ER since yesterday at 5 pm. They have him on heavy duty antibotics and blood thinners for the blood clots. He has never been in the hospital before or really sick and this is pretty scary. We could use a few extra prayers if possible.
I am also going through a tough time with my Mom. She went blind in her left eye about two weeks ago. I have been spending that time taking her to doctors to see what was wrong. We got the word back this morning from the doctors over her biopsies that she has temporal arteritis. She is going to be admitted to the hospital sometime today for intravenous steriods to help it. She is 85 years old and has always ran circles around me getting things done. Even though she does have type 2 diabetes she has been in great control. I am the only one to take care of her since Dad died in 1996 and I am an only child. On top of all of this I have been looking for work for months and just turned down two jobs to take care of my Mom. Really make things harder on my family.

You and your mom have my prayers Cara and if there is anything you need, you can always just whistle and I will come. Hope you know that. They finally got Josh into a room just in time for him to see the shuttle go up. Foot has gone down alittle but clot still there. IV antibotics every 8 hours and blood thinner shots once a day then pills. They just said when he does finally come home, watch that he does not cut himself or anything for awhile since he could bleed too death easily. If it is not one thing, it is another but grateful that the clot has not moved any closer to his heart.
Thanks Jane. We are on day two waiting for a bed at the hospital. All the doctors keep telling me that it is an emergency to get her in and started on intravenous steriods but not to go to the emergency room. The hospital has the paperwork just waiting on a bed. None of it makes sense but whatelse is new.
