Good racing at Orlando

I really like the return of heat races at Orlando. The overall show is much better now. In fact, I thought the races that I saw were very good. Strictly Stocks were 21 cars strong and it was a wild and competitive race. Sportsman had the biggest field I’ve seen for years, and they were hard fought too.

Progress over 2010, for sure. Too bad the crowd was so light, a good show like that deserves more spectators.

Congrats on the good run, Rex!

Joe, I didn’t know you were there. Next time come by and say hi.

Oh yeah, and thanks for putting some money into the mini stock race tonight. I was floored when I saw that!

I actually didn’t make it out, I saw the results on OSW site. We are chomping at the bit to race our SLM, but have been busy with other obligations, plus preparing our prototype for a road race event at Roebling Road in Savannah next weekend. Hopefully we will be there in early April. I have had a lot of fun racing over the years, and I know how tough it is to do financially, especially now. I just want to give a little back.

If the car count keeps going up, so will the stands. Not many people (me included) are willing to shell out money for 5-7 car fields. It looks to me like they might need to get rid of the super stocks, and any other class that can’t put at least 10 cars on the track. If this keeps up, I’ll be back.

Boneman, congrats on a good finish with a full field of cars. billy

There were more strictly stocks than people in the grandstands. But people were on their feet for the strictly stock race, great race .I hated to see so many mods and sportsmans get torn up. A lot of rough driving in the sportsman race.

How was the SLM race?

At least the SLM race wasn’t too destructive. There was traffic in the beginning, but Jason Vail got out front and ran away.

It was cool to see Danny Maddox start off the pole and lead a while. I’ve been watching that guy for almost 40 years, and he’s been racing a lot longer than that.

My daughter won her 1st Strictly Stock heat race and finished 8th in the feature.
Improving every week
Thanks everyone for racing her clean
A proud Dad
