1973 Wendell Scott Talladega car

I stumbled across the Winston Cup museum. Never heard of it, had no idea it was there but enjoyed it. I think I liked this car so much because it resembled some of mine after a full season, except this is truly a piece of history and mine was truly… well, just a piece.

The car before the start of the '73 Talladega 500:

The car as found in 1997 in the woods:

Wendell’s daughter Sybil puts a white rose in the cockpit of the car after it was pulled out of the weeds:

I would like to find more un restored cars.

Jr has a unique collection of wrecked cars but they are all newer. In 1973 this car was Wendell Scotts pride and joy. He didn’t have multiple cars like the teams do now. That makes this car even more interesting.

Amazing story… thanks for sharing. Makes one wonder how things could have turned out for him if the times had been different…

Yea they made a movie about Wendell Scott it had that car in it. I think it was called grease lightening it was pretty good.

Thanks for the story. Makes you wonder how many more cars are left out there waiting to be discovered.

Live these, would love to see more.
