On April 18, 2013 this is what was said at the Charlottle County Airport Authority Meeting. More will be posted by the Airport Authority on there web site soon about the bid
(1) On May 14 or 15 - first walk-through to bid on the racetrack property. (
(2) On June 14 or 15 - second walk-through to bid.
(3) On or about July 25, bids must be turned in.
(4) On or about August 25, bid winner will be announced.
Winning bidder has up to 9 months, or after the first race is completed, to start paying the lease payments.
(6) In conclusion, this means the speedway will be closed a minimum of 6 months if it only takes one month after the bid is announced to get it race ready. Or a maximum of 14 months if the winning bidder drags his or her feet. As to the race enthusiasts, this may seem too long to be without a race. It is up the Airport Authority to get the best bid.
(7) I support the Board’s efforts and with a lot of thinking on this matter I have decided to do the walk through with some other invester and make a bid on the track in July.

Good idea… I think ill show up also if i can find some one to go with me.
Should be fun…
Gary , You already had your hand at that track , I as a ex racer and current spectator would drive past there because you and Bobby took the point money from the racers once. And if memory serves me correctly there where tires buried on the property as well.I wish you luck in your new endeavor but if you and your investor win the bid me and my family will not support your racetrack.
Elmer I think you need to have all of your facts in place before you make comments like that on here! I don’t believe that Gary was the owner of the track Bobby was. Therefore it is not fair to make comments as such like him or not. As far as the racers point money is concerned I don’t know about that but I do know that the most recent owner Kevin Williams did do that to several racers the past 2 years. So what does that make him? But you will support him? That sure says a lot about you! Which way is the wind blowing now?
