SidsView Ceases Production @ Waterford Speedbowl

Hey guys, I wanted to thank all of you who support us down in FL and let you know the unfortunate news that we have ceased production of our weekly websiode series effective immediately from the Waterford Speedbowl. I know there a bunch of you guys that are transplants from up here who do follow what we do.

Information can be seen here: http://racedayct.com/2014/07/sids-vault-production-crew-shutting-down-operations-at-waterford-speedbowl-for-time-being/

We appreciate your support and apologize for the inconvenience to those who use SidsView as a way to keep track of what goes on back home.

Phil

Read the article. How stupid on the tracks part. A great free promotional tool unlike anything anywhere. They should be kissing your @*s, not kicking it.

It is what it is… The ball is in their court here… This has been a culmination of multiple things besides… Not just this one incident. But I won’t go into detail in public…

Is the track still going up for auction in October ?

Two words that frequently seem to be a commonality between many of the problems in the racing community:

Chicken Poo

October 18th is the Auction Date

What was the disagreement between Tom and the owner?

There have been a couple issues along the way that I am not at liberty to speak of publicly. It basically comes to a respect issue. We do all our work for the track for free… The way the Official approached Tom was disrespectful and unprofessional and should have been handled in a much different manner.

You know, the “officials” have a tough deal–on track incidents, illegal equipment, and on and on.

But the shame is that if an error is made it should later be followed with an apology.

NASCAR included.

NASCAR has nothing to do with it. The officials are independent workers for the track. I guess they have to do some kind of class with the track or something but other than the patch on their shoulder that says NASCAR, there is really no affiliation. They work for the track directly.

As far as having a tough deal… It doesn’t matter. They are “employees” of the track just as we technically are. We should not be treated with disrespect by our “co workers” which is essentially what they are even though they get paid and we don’t. The funny thing is, Tom could not even tell you what or where a wedge bolt is on a car and what it does… He knows nothing about the cars at all which made it comical to me that they tried to make it seem like he was making an adjustment to the car or something… Just a sad situation as I said.

Phil–“NASCAR” is a separate, yet analogous, deal (at least in my point).

A few years back they fined Carl Long $200K for a motor that was purchased used and was a tick too big–probably from being re-bored as it was mostly worn out, and totally unknown to Carl.

NASCAR knows all that, and did then.

It effectively ended his career. It is an embarrassment and deserves and apology.

This deal is much the same. Whether an apology comes from the official or someone higher up, an apology is in order, IMO.

The letter of the rule was perhaps violated in both cases, but not the intent.

ps–once again we are in agreement, just in case I confused the issue…

All I was saying is that even though NASCAR is the sanction body, they have zero control over or affiliation with the officials at these tracks. Not until you move up to series like the Modified Tour do you actually start to work directly FOR NASCAR. Just trying to say there is no need to even bring the name NASCAR into this cause there is nothing having to do with it.
