Results

Why do we have to call someone or the local paper to find out the results of a race.

Post on Karnac or your own website, some do not even have a Result page.

Why is it so hard to do. It is not just one track and some post the next day.

Are they just relying on Race Monitor to get this out.

The fans want this info so they can follow their driver after a race and the points for the year.

I’m sure I will catch hell for this, but to me it is pure laziness.

Up here, results are posted the night of the event. The only exception is if there was a tech issue and then those results are posted promptly on Tuesday once everything is reviewed.

It’s not that hard to do… Just don’t know why tracks refuse to spend an extra 15 minutes in their office at the end of the night to update the website.

I see this question asked frequently so I too will go out on a limb here and play devil’s
advocate as to why tracks do not post results.
They dont have a big incentive to do so. From their point of view. You want to know who finished where? Buy a ticket. See the show.
I’m not saying this to attack anybody. I like to find results to races too,but can understand track owners position. Why give incentive for people to not show up?

At NSS our results get sent to our web master right after the races, it can sometimes take a day or two for the results to be updated on the website. However, we try to get them posted on our Facebook page even sooner. We are looking to possibly getting a new website so we can have direct control over it and not rely on a 3rd party.

some of our older racers are 77 years old. we still like to keep up with racing, we paid our due’s , but who gives a crap . no track owners

What burns my ass

Lets say a guy is a struggling racer. He comes religiously every week and puts down hard earned cash for a pit pass hoping to finally take home a win.Maybe the only one he will ever get yet the track owner doesn’t show any allegiance or appreciation for his teams pit pass money and doesn’t acknowledge what may be his only win ever as if it’s unimportant to them. And that ladies and gentlemen is both weak and pathetic.

Good point Zerofor, I’ll make sure getting results posted is a priority for us this year and going forward.

And that wasn’t pointed so much your direction Ryan

over the last couple years you guys have been a lot more consistent in posting things. There are a few others that have got to the point where I dont know why they even bother having a website OR a Facebook page.If it is just to tell me you have hot food or your stands are full, you are missing the entire point of having social media or a website either one.

What about people across the country who can’t just buy a ticket and come. Family and friends of a racer. Maybe just someone who likes to follow a specific racer and doesn’t have any means of communication with that person. Maybe something just came up in life and a person couldn’t attend that week. Sorry but that’s a lame reason.

I agreed it would be nice to find results. Im just saying we are not entitled to them and they are not obligated to produce them. Race tracks are a business.

Never a problem with Auburndale Speedway!

Auburndale is the only track who still sends out results. There was a time we would get 2-3 press releases and results a week from 90% of the tracks here in Florida.

Ozzy I am in complete agreement with you

There is no obligation from any track to post results. There isn’t even an obligation to put on an entertaining race program. There isn’t even any obligation for him to keep his track open. And that is exactly how The Ringling Brothers Circus, many bowling alleys, and even golf courses have quietly disappeared.Nobody has any obligation to anyone. But tell me does that line of thinking make the sport thrive or even survive going into the future?

Btw
417 results are up on the fb page of Jerry Gilbert

I’m sure lots of people will find it there Ozzy LOL… Why can’t the track post results on their own web site?

It seems like the best marketing strategy would be to flood the media (all forms of media ) with race previews, race updates, and race results. Email blasts sent to all newspaper sports editors in a radius of 50 miles from the track, all local racing web sites and forums, national racing results sites, national race publications…
Problem is, some tracks don’t have anyone designated to compile and send those email blasts. And at 1 in the morning after a long, long day, i can certainly understand someone wanting to go home to the family and to to bed instead of spending another hour or so putting together accurate race results. And receiving race info and results the next day instead of the same night should be good enough for any fan.
One more problem is that the average fan, or especially a new fan, has no idea about national sites posting results. They go to the track web site or facebook page, see nothing, and don’t know to go to another site for information.
