What a great win for Trevor and the Woods Brothers. Cant think of a more deserving team. Hope theres more to come.
Yeah I have to admit as much as I despise nascar right now that was pretty cool. I’m not to dead set on that two car crap but it sure made for an interesting race. The Wood Bros. are from my neck of the woods and to see the old school paint job and the Woods in victory lane at the 500 was damn sweet, but now that it’s over I’m done with crapcar for the year.
what I like most…
the boy didn’t cry! My wife woke me up with 10 laps to go and I was thinking it would be pretty cool to see the UPS car and the 21 finish first and second. When the 21 won, I told my wife, “the kid will be crying like a baby, turn it off!” He’s got a new fan here!
Definitely a feel good story for the start of the season.I must give him credit for staying out of trouble especially with so little seat time. It would appear that he had very sharp spotters as well. The only negative is I hate to see nascrap benefit and my jury is still out on how well the “love bug” racing style is going to play out. I feel very uneasy knowing the second car in line has no vision in front and must trust the man in front and his spotter.
Dreams do come true
See Tuna and MOE can see some things the same way. GREAT JOB WOOD BROTHERS. Man was that car FAST.:ernaehrung004: And this was no fluke this kid is a driver.
oh i agree about everything in General at Daytona and Talladega, the tracks are to big with too much banking. Not my kind of racing but am just soo happy the kid won.
On Moe, we might agree on a lot of thingsif you give it a chance. That was my point when I said you dont even know me, just dont call me names and everything will be cool.
What I liked seeing was all the drivers lined up in Victory Lane to congratulate the kid and Leonard - including David Ragan after that move. Something I found out…Richard Petty was listed as the car owner on that 21 car today
Early in the race, it was really cool seein’ that blue #43 and the 21 run side-by-side for a number of laps!
Glad to see a new face in Victory Lane at Daytona. But also loved that Bobby Labonte finished 4th and Terry was like 16th or something. Love the Labonte brothers, always have, always will.
you bet–
the old school paint job had me from the beginning…nice to see the old school paint job, with the red/white and the #21 Gold plated car.
I agree too!
Yea it was cool. But there are still others like ‘Front Row Joe’ I would like to see win the big one also. No team deserved to win more? I can think of alot of other teams that deserved to win also. The bad thing about it for the kid is, it’s only his second Nascar race. And first time at the 500. This will be hard for him to live up to because if he doesn’t do like the 24 or 48 as far as number of champinships goes. He will just become a footnote in racing history.
yeah it was cool to see him win only being 20 that was cool plus its been a while sence the wood brothers have got to seee victory lane at daytona
Choices…
Last night on the final racing news it was stated: at the beginning of the season all drivers must choose which division they want to compete for in the championship. They can not compete for more than one. Trevor chose Nationwide Series and comes in for the win in Sprint Cup. Hope this choice doesn’t come to haunt him at the end of the season.
No matter what, we should see a lot of him this year…:ernaehrung004:
-JIM-
Trevor is only scheduled to run 17 races for the Wood Bros. so he really will not be a factor in Cup, as far as points go… I think he has a full time ride in the Nationwide…
Trevor
in listening to his interview he seems like a wonderful level headed and polite kid. good values. i hope he goes far!
carol aka oz
glad trevor won the wood brothers needed it
but wonder if roush has him signed up for nation wide will he steal him from wood brothers cup sure would not be fair would it money can do any thing
Yep, I saw the Cat in the Hat congratulating Bayne and I bet he was thinking, “I gotta have this kid”!
From what I have read, he is on loan to the Wood Brothers from Roush. Roush signed him when Diamond Waltrip Racing couldn’t promise him a sponsor.
Trevor did a great job on Sunday. After talking to Rocky today, he said Trevor may still be able to run for the Cup. We will know this week. You go Trevor.
For those of us that know him and have race against him for the past 10 years, we wouldn’t expect any different from this young man. He has real talent like I said about 3 years in one of Carol’s post about " local boy does good in NASCAR". Another WKA stand out. Boy did I catch crap from OJ and Todd on that one. I said in a post a few weeks ago. Put any WKA National Champion in the kind of equipment that these big name kids get for a few weeks and they will do as good if not better. I stand by that. Hell Trevor is in a single car team, part time ride.
